What to send
The cleaner the file, the cleaner the print. A vector file is best. A large, sharp image works for most jobs.
A rough logo can be redrawn, and a new design can be drawn from scratch. Bring an idea and leave with artwork.
You get a mockup first
The shop sends back a mockup of your design on the garment. You also get a price list by count. That way you can see what a bigger run does to the price per shirt.
What approval locks
Saying yes to the mockup locks three things: the artwork, the count and the date. From that point the shop is buying blanks and burning screens for your job.
What you are checking
Spelling. Names and numbers. Sizes and how many of each.
The count. Read it twice. What is on the mockup is what goes on the shirts.
School and team marks
School marks belong to the school. Official logo work should come with the campus or district's blessing. Booster clubs handle this step all the time.
The shop knows the drill. Spirit wear can celebrate the town and the colors without copying a protected mark.
Names and numbers on every shirt
The main design is screen printed. Each player's name and number goes on in vinyl. That way one run can have forty different backs with no extra screens.
