Sometimes, and the only honest answer comes from the shop's current press calendar. Call first, have your design close to final, and be flexible on garment color. Rush is a scheduling question, not a printing one.
Can you help us pick how many shirts to order?
Yes. For preorder events the answer is exact: sell first, print the count. For day of sales, the shop can talk through what similar local events actually moved so the leftover box stays small.
