THE MASCOT DRAWINGS. What they demonstrate is the half of the name most print shops do not have: TAGD means Tshirts And Graphic Designs, and the drawing happens in the same building as the press.
WHY THAT MATTERS PRACTICALLY. When artwork and printing are in one place, a change to the art is a conversation, not a ticket to a third party. Groups that come in with a photo of a twenty year old shirt and nothing else get a drawing back. That is a normal Tuesday here, not a special request.
THE SEPARATION SERIES. Four images of one real job: the green screen alone, the white screen alone, the red screen alone, and all three printed on top of each other. Almost nobody outside a print shop has seen a design taken apart like that, which is why ink color count feels like an arbitrary upcharge instead of the physical thing it is. Each of those screens is an object that had to be made and a pass that had to be run.
THE PRESS PHOTOGRAPH. A hand lettered shirt clamped on the press in Falfurrias. It is on the site for one reason: to show that the press is here. A print shop website with no photograph of its own press is usually a website that forwards orders somewhere else.
WHAT TO ASK WHEN YOU LOOK AT ANY PRINT SHOP'S SAMPLES. How many ink colors is that. Is the art vector or was it scaled up from a photo. Did they draw it or did the customer bring it. Any shop that cannot answer those three about its own portfolio did not do the work it is showing you.

How do I judge whether a print shop's samples are really theirs?
Ask three questions about any sample: how many ink colors is it, is the artwork vector or scaled up from a photo, and did they draw it or did the customer bring it. A shop that did the work answers all three without hesitating.
