Practice wear to game day
Not everything needs to be a jersey. Practice tees, warmup hoodies and fan shirts usually ride along with a roster order. Adding them to the same run is the cheapest those pieces will ever be.
How to size a roster without eating leftovers
Never guess a team's sizes from the roster count. Get every player to say their own size, and get it in writing, because the one who does not answer is the one who will need a size nobody ordered. For a youth team, remember that kids grow between the order and the season, so parents often want one size up.
For an adult league, the spread runs wider than people expect on both ends. Add a couple of spares in the larger sizes, since those are what run short when somebody joins late.
Jersey fabric behaves differently than a cotton tee
Most athletic jerseys are polyester, because it breathes and dries fast. Polyester also holds dye that can move into the ink when heat is applied, which is what turns a white number faintly pink weeks later. It is a known thing and it is handled with a lower curing ink or a blocking layer printed underneath.
It matters most on red, navy and maroon jerseys. Mention the garment and the color when you ask about a team order, because it changes how the job is built, not just what it costs.
Names and numbers do not need their own screens
The team design on the front is screen printed once and it is the same on every shirt. The part that changes per player goes on afterward as heat applied vinyl, cut individually. So a roster of forty different names and numbers is one screen printing job plus a per piece charge for personalization.
That is why the number sounds worse in your head than it comes out on paper.
Practice shirts and game shirts are different jobs
A game jersey gets worn a dozen times a season and needs to look sharp. A practice shirt gets worn to death, washed constantly, and nobody cares if it fades. It is usually worth spending on the game shirt and going with a simpler, cheaper garment and a one color print for practice.
Ordering them together, though, still gets you the combined count for pricing, which is the part most teams miss.

Can every player have a different name and number?
Yes. The shared design is screen printed and the per player details are applied in vinyl, so each back is its own. The roster just needs to be final before the order locks.
What happens when a player joins after the order is done?
Bring the addition in as a small follow up. It will not get the big run's per piece price, but matching the original design is no problem since the artwork is already on file.
Can you match our exact team colors?
Ink can be mixed close to a specific color, and if you have a color code from your school or league, bring it. Be aware that the same ink reads differently on a light shirt than a dark one, and a color on a screen never matches a color on fabric exactly.
What if a player joins after the order is printed?
A small add-on run is possible, and since the screens and art already exist it costs less than starting over. It is still cheaper to order two or three spares in common sizes at the start.
Do you print on jerseys we already bought?
Printing on garments you supply is sometimes possible, but it depends on the fabric and how they are made. Ask first, because some athletic fabrics and some seams do not take a print well, and nobody wants to ruin shirts you already paid for.
